First Laugh!

Tonight as Derek and I were grocery shopping, we heard the absolute sweetest sound come out of our little girl's mouth!! It just so happened to be toward the end of our shopping trip as we were walking through the bread isle. I was talking to Elise (like I always do) and trying to get her to give me a big smile (like she usually does). When all of the sudden that big smile and the little sounds she has been making for quite some time now, turned into the cutest little LAUGH!!!!!

It was the most adorable thing I have seen and heard in my entire life! I have been trying to get her to laugh for weeks, knowing of course that she would do it in her own time. It caught me way off guard as that sound just trickled out of her mouth randomly for the first time! How amazing and precious!!

It reminds me how much God blesses us and pays attention to ALL the little details in our life, including a baby's first laugh! Just like how He knows how many strands of hair are on our head...amazing! :)

I was SOOOO glad that Derek also was able to hear her laugh for the first time! His work schedule has not allowed him to be home much the past couple weeks, and I am so thankful that it happened on a night that Derek was with us and not working late! All in God's perfect timing!

Our beautiful little girl is growing up! Looking forward to many more laughs to come! :)

Ohio State Fair

Last Saturday we spent a fun filled day at the fair! I was able to get discounted tickets through my work, and we took my cousins Kristen and Michelle along with us. The weather was pretty much perfect, not too hot and not too cold - it rained right before we got there but stayed dry after that.

Logan, Michelle, and Kristen got the wristbands so they could go on the rides an unlimited number of times throughout the day. They went on the giant slide, a coaster, the swings, and several other fun rides! They also played a few of the games and won little stuffed animals.

Elise and I watched them on the rides a little, and then we spent some time browsing all the things for sale in the marketplace building. I always love watching the demonstrations and seeing what new gadgets they have out this year.

When I was little, I always loved going on the rides at the fair and eating all the food! We didn't eat any meals at the fair this year, the prices are rediculously expensive and you could easily spend $20 on a meal for one person, but we did splurge to try the fried buckeyes. I LOVE buckeyes, but when they deep fried it the buckeye melted so it turned into just melted chocolate and peanut butter inside of the fried shell. I think I would have liked it better if it could have been kept a solid candy inside. :-)

We missed checking out the butter cow display this year, but we saw it last year. All in all we had a great day - Elise did very well just hanging out in the stroller. Here are some pics!
