6 Months Already!

I can't believe my baby girl is 6 months old already...well 6 1/2 months as I write this actually! Just in the past few weeks Elise has accomplished so many firsts! It's SO fun!!! I've loved watching every minute of it!

She is doing several new things now at this age:
  • Rolling over (only sometimes though - she still hates being on her belly)
  • Sitting up on her own
  • Started eating baby food - she has liked all of the fruits and veggies so far except peas and bananas (I don't blame her on the peas...I think they're gross too!)
  • Grabbing EVERYTHING that's reachable in front of her, and then it instantly goes into her mouth
  • Cut her first tooth just this past week
Wow! Next thing we know, she will be walking all over the place and we'll be chasing after her very soon. :)

Logan really loves his baby sister! I love watching how they interact together!! Logan will talk to her all the time and try to get her to smile for him. Every time Elise sees Logan, her eyes light up and she gets so happy!

Logan has insisted that she call him "Lo-Lo" once she starts talking, but right now she only says "da da da" and "ba ba ba". However, whenever we say Lo-Lo to her, she seems to know that we're talking about her brother Logan. It's so cute!

Fall Fun!

We have had a lot going on this fall! It's been busy, but so fun!

Our church had a fall festival at Niemeyer farm in Delaware county a couple weeks ago. We brought my nieces, Madison and Paisleigh, along with us. There was a hayride, pumpkin patch, food, bonfire, face painting, marshmallow roasting, cookie decorating, etc. What a fun time! The kids enjoyed themselves and loved picking out there own pumpkin in the muddy field...it had rained. Such fun memories though!
My nephew Cole turned 1 on October 26th!!! Wow, has it really been a year? He's such a cutie too! We went to his birthday party to celebrate his special day! Instead of blowing out his candle, he tried to grab it. Didn't get burnt though, thank goodness!! I don't know very many kids that actually have mastered that they are supposed to blow out the candle on their 1st birthday anyway. :)
Elise is now 6 months old! Time flies!!! She's rolling over a little, starting to sit up on her own, saying "da da da" and "ba ba ba" all the time, and starting to grab at EVERYTHING in sight! She has been eating cereal since 5 months old, but we are now starting her on baby food at 6 months old. I'm really enjoying this stage with her!

Then we received very exciting news....the day before we left for Washington DC, a call came from my brother Jonathan that he and his girlfriend Stephanie had gotten ENGAGED!!! Yay! We are so excited for them and look forward to welcoming Stephanie to the family at their wedding next year! Beautiful ring...nice job Jon! :)
So now I think we're caught up to this past weekend. My work sent me to Washington DC for a conference. Derek decided to join me on the trip and bring Elise too. When not in meetings, we were able to go downtown a few times to do some sightseeing! With it being my first time visiting DC, we planned an evening tour of the monuments. Which was amazing! I loved seeing them all lit up at night. It was so gorgeous and such a clear night too! There were tons of other things that we would have liked to do but didn't have time for, so I suppose we will be planning another trip there at some point in the future.
